Part and Full Time Science Presenters and Educators
We are recruiting university science graduates looking for careers in science education. The jobs involve presenting science workshops at primary schools and supervising our Science Made Fun programs at various sites. The successful candidates will deliver STEM programs that place a heavy emphasis on building scientific understanding and literacy for growing minds. Our scientists encourage young students to expand their perception of scientific concepts and problem-solving skills. We deliver fun, but we also pride ourselves on the quality of our science curriculum which has been designed to meet the BC school science standards. These are fun and inspiring positions that will be of special interest to those who love science and who enthusiastically embrace the opportunity to stimulate young minds and nurture curiosity. Part time positions are for the October – June school term.

The successful candidates should have a working knowledge of scientific principles, be adept at engaging children in hands-on science experiments and be able to manage groups of children. Previous experience working with children at schools, day camps, retreats, or in other group activities will be helpful for these positions. The ability to speak French or Mandarin will be an asset but is not a prerequisite. There will be an initial paid training period after which the presenters will be expected to work independently. Upon completion of training, compensation will range from $26 -$32 per hour plus paid travel time,

As the positions involve travel to locations across the Lower Mainland, only candidates with a reliable vehicle, and an unimpaired driving license can be considered. 

Academic Educators and Tutors
Unique Minds Learning Company also has openings for tutors and educators to work in our West Vancouver learning centre and remotely via ZOOM. These are permanent part time positions that could develop into full time as we ramp up our services during the school year. These positions will be of interest to English speaking job seekers with a background in tutoring or teaching.

Our educators work with students of all levels from kindergarten to university. Many students come to us to help them excel in academics and we also provide remedial help to students who require specialized learning assistance. Our staff work in a fast paced, collegial, and creative environment. 

We are currently seeking tutors capable of teaching both elementary and high school English including, literature, composition and grammar and creative writing. We are also seeking tutors to teach mathematics and sciences at all levels including pre-calculus, calculus, physics, chemistry, biology.

Applicants must possess a university degree and be able to work both individually and as part of a team. The ability to speak French, or foreign languages including Mandarin, will be considered an asset but not a prerequisite. Compensation ranges from $25 to $35 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Please note that our location is not well served by public transportation and most of our staff drive to work.

Business and Post Secondary Tutors
We currently have a requirement for part-time educators to tutors student in business courses remotely. This involves teaching business principles and guiding students through homework, research, and assignments. Courses to be taught include Fundamentals of Accounting, Micro and Macro Economics, Statistics, Differential Calculus, GMAT preparation and the like. Applicants should have a degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
These positions are part-time and offer a compensation range of $30 -$42 per hour depending on experience and the nature of the and level of the courses taught as well as the qualifications and experience of the applicant. 

Orton-Gillingham Tutor and Remedial Educator: Trainees and Experienced
We are seeking a qualified Orton-Gillingham trained English language tutor and educator OR a recent university graduate who is willing to self study and be trained as an O-G tutor. Applicants should be available for the entire school year and bring enthusiasm to the learning experience. A background in tutoring, teaching, or working with young people is desirable but not essential. The place of work will be our West Vancouver learning centre. 

These are permanent, part time, hourly paid positions which could lead to full time work in the future. The work is varied as our tutors work with students of all levels from kindergarten to university and the successful candidate will work closely with our director of studies. Compensation for trainees is $18 per hour. Upon completion of training, compensation will range from $26 -$32 per hour
